Die T-Zelltherapie mit chimären Antigenrezeptoren (CAR) leidet unter Komplikationen wie Zytokinfreisetzungssyndromen und T-Zell-Erschöpfung. Um diesen Nachteilen entgegenzuwirken, berichten Jianfeng Zhou, Wenshe Ray Liu et al. in ihrem Forschungsartikel (e202109550) über einen chemogenetischen Schalter, der reversibel ein- ausgeschaltet werden kann, um die CAR-Expression mithilfe eines klinisch zugelassenen niedermolekularen Medikaments, Asunaprevir, zu steuern.
